     Jean-Pierre Billet

Professeur titulaire au C.N.R  de Clermont - Ferrand

Jean Pierre Billet débute la guitare dans sa ville natale : Belfort, puis il est admis au conservatoire de Strasbourg dans la classe de F. Fernandez Lavie où il obtient un premier prix de guitare. C’est au Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris qu’il poursuit ses études dans la classe d’ Alexandre Lagoya qu’il quitte avec le Premier Prix du C.N.S.M.       Il complète sa formation par des études d’harmonie, d’analyse, d’histoire de la musique et de musique de chambre. Il a bénéficié des conseils de nombreux maîtres de la guitare : N. Yépès A. Ségovia O. Caceres J. Tomas L. Brouwer... Jean-Pierre s’est produit en concert en France, Angleterre, Allemagne, Suisse, Biélorussie, Afrique du Nord, en récital en concerto et en musique de chambre, il participe régulièrement au festival de musique contemporaine de Clermont- Ferrand.Passionné de musique ancienne il étudie le luth et le continuo à Genève et à Tours et participe à des productions d’œuvres de Monteverdi, Bach Purcell... Titulaire du C. A.  Jean - Pierre Billet crée la classe de guitare du Conservatoire National Régional  de Clermont-Ferrand, où il enseigne actuellement.

Jean Pierre Billet began the guitar in Belfort, his hometown. From there he went to study with F. Fernandez Lavie in the conservatory of Strasbourg where he gained the first prize in guitar playing. He continued his studies in the Paris Superior National Conservatoire with Alexandre Lagoya where he also obtained the First prize of the C.N.S.M.He complemented his musical training by studying harmony, analysis, history of music and chamber music. He also benefited from the advice of numerous guitar masters: N. Yepes, A. Segovia, O. Caseres, J. Tomas, L. Brouwer.Jean-Pierre has performed in concerts in France, England, Germany, Switzerland, Byelorussia, North Africa, either in recital, concerto with orchestra or chamber music and he plays regularly with the Clermont-Ferrand contemporary music festival.Having a passionate interest in ancient music, he studied the lute and continuo both in Geneva and Tours, and has participated in productions of works by Monteverdi, Bach, Purcell...Jean - Pierre Billet started the guitar class in the Clermont-Ferrand National Regional Conservatory  where he currently is the Head of the Guitar Department.
